Duck, Duck, Goose

Once upon a time, there was a little duck who loved her peaceful pond. One day, a huge hippo came to the pond. "Hey, hippo, you're ruining my peace and quiet!" the duck quacked. "Look at me, I'm a beautiful duck, and you are... well, you're not!"

The hippo was very kind. "I'm sorry, little duck," he said. "I just came to cool off. Please, let me finish my bath, and then I'll leave." The duck thought about it and said, "Okay, but hurry up!"

The duck waited on the bank while the hippo took his bath. Suddenly, a sneaky fox appeared! The duck was so scared and jumped into the water. The fox followed right after her! "Help! Help!" the duck cried.

The hippo saw what was happening. He quickly charged at the fox and used his big body to scare him away. The fox whimpered and ran off with his tail between his legs.

The duck swam over to the hippo. "Thank you so much for saving me! You could have easily ignored my request for help because I treated you so rudely," she said. "Please, don't leave! Let's be friends!" The hippo smiled and happily agreed. From that day on, the two of them lived in the pond together, playing and telling stories. They were the very best of friends.
