Two Tiger Cubs And A Hedgehog

Hey, he's being hunted

Two playful tiger cubs, Timmy and Tilly, were tumbling in a sunny meadow. Suddenly, they saw something small and round rolling down a grassy hill.

"Hey, let me see what is that?" said Timmy, his eyes wide with curiosity. He scampered closer, his tail twitching.

"Be careful!" Tilly called out, her voice a soft rumble. "I see small arrows all over his body! Somebody is hunting him!"

Timmy paused and looked at the little creature. He was rolled up into a perfect, spiky ball. "Oh no," he whispered, feeling a pang of worry. "We have to help him!"

Just then, the little ball of spines uncurled slightly, revealing a small, wet nose and two beady eyes. It was a hedgehog, and he was not being hunted. He was simply waking up from a nap.

"Hee-hee," snorted the hedgehog, "I'm not being hunted! My spines are my special coat. They keep me safe from big creatures like you."

Timmy and Tilly looked at each other, confused. "But they look like arrows!" said Tilly.

The hedgehog uncurled all the way, wiggling his nose. "They're just like the soft fur on your bellies," he explained, "but a little tougher on my back. It's how I stay safe when I'm sleeping or when a fox comes by."

The tiger cubs giggled. They had never heard of an animal with a coat like that! The hedgehog, whose name was Spike, told them that his spines were not poisonous and didn't fall off.
