Giraffe was taking a long, leisurely stroll when he spotted something very strange. High up in the branches of a big mango tree, a Tiger was curled up and getting comfortable.
"What are you doing up there?" asked Giraffe, tilting his long neck to get a better look.
Tiger yawned and stretched. "Nothing much," he said. "Just wanted to sleep in the tree."
"You silly goose!" Giraffe chuckled. "You'll fall and get a big bump on your head!"
But Tiger just smiled a sly smile. "Don't you worry about me," he said. "I won't fall." He was actually hiding, waiting for a tasty snack to walk by, but he didn't want Giraffe to know his secret plan.
Just then, a small, speedy Deer came skipping down the path. Tiger's eyes lit up! He took a deep breath, aimed for the Deer, and leaped from the tree with a mighty roar.
WHOOSH!
He missed! Tiger's paws slipped, and instead of landing on the ground, he tumbled head over heels and fell right into a very big, very muddy hole!
Giraffe, who had been watching the whole thing, shook his head. "I told you so!" he called down into the hole. "You didn't listen to me, and now look what happened!"
Tiger whimpered from the bottom of the hole. His tummy was rumbling, his paw hurt, and he was covered in mud from his nose to his tail. He wasn't so sneaky after all!
