The Kind Leopard and the Little Bird

Why the little bird couldn't fly?

A little bird was hopping on the ground. He tried to flap his wings, whoosh, whoosh, but he just couldn't get up in the air!

Suddenly, a big, spotted leopard saw the bird. He came padding over quietly.

"Hey there, little one! What's wrong?" the leopard asked in a kind voice.

The bird got a little scared when he saw the big cat, but he chirped, "I can't fly! I bumped right into a tree on my way home and tumbled down. I need a little time to feel better."

The leopard smiled gently. "Don't you worry one bit. I will stay right here and keep you safe until you can fly again," he promised.

The nice leopard stayed close by the little bird. He even walked the bird over to the cool, rushing river. The bird was very thirsty! He took a long, satisfying drink of the clear water and rested for a bit.

Then, the little bird stretched out his wings and gave a big flap, flap, flap! Whoosh! He was flying high in the sky!

"Thank you, thank you, Mr. Leopard! You helped me so much!" the bird sang out as he circled around. Then, he zoomed off toward his home tree.

The leopard watched him go, feeling warm and happy inside because he had been able to help a friend in need.

Kindness goes a long way! A little bit of kindness, like a gentle word, a shared smile, or helping someone who is struggling, can change the whole tone of someone's day—or even their life!
