Seeing What A Giraffe Sees

Monkey holding on a giraffe neck

Once upon a time, a little monkey named Milo was playing in a tree. He saw his friend, a gentle giraffe named Gigi, munching on some yummy leaves in the meadow below.

"Hey, Gigi!" shouted Milo. "I always wonder what the world looks like from up there. You're the tallest animal I know!"

Gigi smiled. "It's a wonderful view, Milo! And you can see it too. Just climb the tallest tree you can find, and you'll get a similar view!"

But Milo still really wanted to see what Gigi saw. "I want to see your view, Gigi!" he insisted.

Gigi thought for a moment, then she slowly bent her long neck down. "Okay, Milo, hold on tight! Climb onto my neck."

Milo scrambled onto Gigi's soft neck and held on to her mane. Slowly and carefully, Gigi straightened up. Up, up, up went Milo!

"Wow!" he squealed. "This is a brand new world! The trees look like tiny bushes, and the stream looks like a silver ribbon!"

Gigi gently walked through the meadow, giving Milo a magnificent ride. The wind tickled his fur, and he saw things he had never seen before. He laughed and cheered the whole way.

When the ride was over, Milo slid down and gave Gigi a big hug. "Thank you, Gigi! That was the most marvelous ride ever. You're the best friend a monkey could have!"

And from that day on, Milo and Gigi knew that true friendship could help you see the world in a whole new way.
