I Just Can't Hold Back My Tears

Once upon a time, in a bright green forest, lived a little fox named Flicker. Flicker had a very best friend—a friendly, bouncy bunny named Pip. They did everything together! They shared crunchy carrots and played hide-and-seek among the giant oak trees.

But one sunny morning, Pip wasn't there.

Flicker waited and waited. "Pip must just be running late," he thought. But by lunchtime, Pip still hadn't shown up for their usual game.

Flicker's heart started to feel squishy and sad, like a wet sponge. Tears welled up in his big, bright eyes. His best friend was missing!

Flicker didn't waste a second. He sniffed the air and raced off to search.

He ran all the way up to the Rocky Valley, where Pip liked to pick wildflowers. He checked behind every tall, gray rock.

He peeked inside the Gurgling Creek, where they sometimes watched the little fish swim.

He even climbed the Whispering Hill, where Pip usually napped in the sun.

Flicker searched everywhere! He looked high and low, near and far, in all the places Pip loved to go. But no matter how hard he looked, he couldn't find a single paw print, a piece of fluffy white fur, or even a nibbled carrot.

Flicker sat down by the big oak tree and let out a big, sad sob. He missed his best friend so much.

Even though he felt sad, Flicker knew he couldn't give up. He just needed to figure out what to do next.
