"I need a favor from you," said the little fish.
"What can I do for you, friend?" asked the big, gentle elephant.
The fish looked sad. "This part of the river is a really popular spot for fishing. When the fishermen come, we aren't safe. Your presence here will scare them away and keep us protected. Could you please just stay here for a little while?"
"Of course, I will do that for you!" said the elephant with a nod. "And you know what? I will make sure that even when I'm not here, you and your family are always safe."
The elephant thought and thought about how to keep his little fish friends safe forever. Finally, he had a brilliant idea!
This special rock wall created a protected, shallow area.
It was too rocky for the fishermen's big boats to get close, and the water was now too shallow for them to cast their long fishing nets easily.
The fish were overjoyed! "Thank you, thank you!" they bubbled. "Now we have a safe place to play and live!"
The elephant smiled. He was so happy he could use his size and strength to protect his friends. They were safe for good!
