Elephant Caught In The Unexpected Flood

It was a fine afternoon, after a heavy lunch on sugarcane, the elephant was going back home. Suddenly he heard a loud noise.  He was taken aback by what he saw. He found himself surrounded by rising water.

It was a flash flood caused by water from the dam, with its shutters opened. The water was overflowing in the jungle everywhere. Luckily, the elephant found a rock amid the river. He climbed that rock and stood on the top of the rock like a statue. 

The water level was still rising, he didn’t know what to do.  He stood on the top of the rock for a long time, until it was evening when the water level began to drop. He heaved a sigh of relief, at least he can go home now.
