A little lion cub named Leo was hungry! His tummy rumbled like a sleepy drum. His dad, a strong and brave lion, was out looking for dinner. Leo's dad was a mighty hunter, the king of the savanna.
Sometimes, hunting was easy. He could spot a speedy deer munching on grass and catch it in a flash. That was like finding a yummy cookie! But other times, hunting was a big challenge, especially when he tried to catch a huge, grumpy buffalo. The buffaloes had sharp horns and were very tough. It took all of the lion's strength to win that fight.
Just when he thought he had dinner, some silly elephants with their big ears and long noses would come stomping by, making a huge racket and scaring all the animals away. It was a bit frustrating, but the lion never gave up. He was smart and patient. He knew that even though his life was tough, he would always find a way to take care of his family.
After a long time, Leo's dad came back with a big, delicious meal. "Roar!" he said, which in lion language meant, "Dinner is served!" Little Leo's tummy was happy again, and he knew his dad was the bravest, strongest, and best hunter in the whole wide world.
