Wisdom Of An Old Monkey

The old monkey was wise. This is a story of a monkey community that benefited from the old monkey’s wisdom.

One day, the old monkey saw a young monkey eating a banana.

“Hey, where did you get that banana?” asked the old monkey.

“I plucked it from the banana plantation,” said the young monkey.

“My dear child, you are doing a wrong thing. If the farm people find out we are stealing bananas from their plantation, they will kill us,” said the old monkey.

The young monkey looked surprised and a bit scared.

“I didn’t know that. I just saw the bananas and thought nothing wrong in getting that banana,” the young monkey said.

The old monkey patted the young one’s head gently. “I understand, young one. We need to be aware of the consequences of our actions. Instead of stealing, we should find a way to live without causing harm to others.”

The young monkey nodded, his eyes wide with understanding. “But how can we do that?”

The old monkey smiled. “I will show you a place where you can freely eat everything you wish. Come with me,” said the old monkey.

Curious and eager to learn, the young monkey followed the old one to the forest. When they reached the place the old monkey mentioned, it pointed out various plants and fruits growing there.

The young monkey was amazed at the abundance of food that nature provided. “This is incredible. I never knew there was so much to eat here. Thanks for showing me this place.”

“Yes, young one,” said the old monkey. “Nature provides everything we need. All we need to do is to search for it. We must always be mindful of our impact on the world around us.”

As the days passed, the young monkey shared what he had learned with the rest of the monkey community. Together, they began to gather food from the forest, leaving the banana plantation undisturbed.

The plantation people noticed the change and, seeing that their bananas were no longer being stolen, they left the monkeys in peace. The monkey community thrived, living in harmony with nature and with the wisdom of the old monkey guiding them.

Years later, when the old monkey grew even older and weaker, he looked upon the flourishing community with pride. He had taught them well, and now they lived in balance with the world around them.

One evening, as the sun set and painted the sky with shades of orange and pink, the old monkey gathered the community around him. “Remember, my dear ones, wisdom is not just about knowing what to do. It is about doing what is right and helping others to do the same.”

The monkeys listened intently, knowing that the old monkey’s words would echo in their hearts for generations to come. And so, the legacy of the wise old monkey lived on, a beacon of wisdom and harmony in the heart of the forest.
