A little tiger cub sat all by himself in the lush, green grass, sighing with boredom. His mother had left early that morning to go hunting, leaving him with nothing to do.
Just as he was starting to lose hope of having any fun, a giant, gentle rhino ambled into the clearing. Noticing the restless little cub, the rhino offered a warm smile.
"Hey there, little one," the rhino said kindly. "Looking for some fun? Grab onto my horn, and I'll give you a merry-go-round ride!"
The cub’s eyes lit up. He scampered forward and clutched tightly onto the rhino’s sturdy horn. With a gentle, graceful sweep of his head, the rhino spun around, sending the tiny cub whirling through the air like a carnival ride. The cub giggled with joy, completely thrilled by his unexpected new friend.
Before long, the mother tiger returned from her hunt, dragging a fresh meal behind her. As she emerged from the jungle, her heart nearly skipped a beat when she saw her delicate cub spinning around on the horn of a massive, powerful rhinoceros. Knowing better than to provoke a heavy rhino, she slipped quietly into the thick bushes, holding her breath and watching closely until the giant lumbered peacefully away.
Once the coast was clear, the mother tiger sprang out from hiding, her ears flat with lingering fear.
"Never, ever play with a rhino again!" she scolded, pulling her cub close. "Rhinos are incredibly strong and unpredictable. You are lucky he didn't throw you off the edge of a cliff!"
The cub nodded meekly, realizing how dangerous his fun ride could have been. Content to be safe and sound with his mother, he helped himself to the fresh hunt she had brought, and the two enjoyed a quiet, satisfying lunch together under the shade of the trees.
