The Rock Elephant

On a fine afternoon, the baby elephant was bathing in the river, a favorite thing he loves to do often. Suddenly, he felt something wrong. He was floating in the overflowing river.

The baby elephant was totally unaware of what was happening. He was surrounded by the flood waters caused by the unexpected opening of a dam. The flood waters took the baby elephant away. Luckily, he managed to hold on to a rock.

“Somebody please help. I am stranded here,” the elephant on the rock shouted for help.

After some time, a small bird came that way. She saw the plight of the baby elephant standing on a rock. She promised to help the elephant. The bird went to the herd of the elephants grazing in the nearby meadow and told them about the stranded elephant.

The elephants came to the river to rescue the baby elephant. The elephant leader slowly swam to the baby elephant, took him from the rock, and swam back. The baby elephant was happy to reunite with its family. He thanked the bird for her timely help.
