The Race

Rabbit saw a tortoise.

“Hey, let’s race,” said the rabbit, who thought that it was easy for him to defeat the tortoise in the race.

The tortoise agreed to the race. They decided on a time and venue for the race. The monkey blew the whistle to officially start the race.

The rabbit was running fast and disappeared into the wilderness. But the poor tortoise couldn’t run fast. It was strolling. The tortoise knew that he couldn’t win the race because of its slow speed. But still, he was participating in the race.

After a while, the rabbit looked back. There was no sign of the tortoise. There was a farm where the carrots were just harvested. The carrots were piled after the harvest. So the rabbit peaked into the farm and started crunching the carrots individually. His stomach was full, and the rabbit was feeling sleepy. The rabbit slept under a tree.

Meanwhile, the poor tortoise was walking. The tortoise didn’t allow anything to distract his mind. The tortoise walked and passed the rabbit who was sleeping, and snoring.

Finally, the tortoise reached the finishing point where the monkey was waiting to declare the winner. The monkey declared the tortoise as the winner.

The rabbit woke up late in the evening. He rushed to the finishing point. But when he reached the finishing point, he saw all the animals congratulating the race winner, the tortoise. The rabbit couldn’t bear his failure in the race. He turned back and ran away. After that incident, he never challenged anybody for the race.
