The sun beat down on the African savanna. A grumpy elephant named Ellie trudged through the tall grass, searching for a cool drink. She spotted a shimmering pond and hurried towards it.
As she approached, she saw a crocodile named Clyde basking on a rock. "Excuse me," Ellie said, "but would you mind if I took a drink?"
Clyde grumbled, "This is my pond! You big elephants always scare away the fish!"
Ellie sighed. "I'm just thirsty. Please, I won't disturb your fish."
Clyde hesitated. Ellie looked so miserable. Finally, he nodded. "Alright, but don't make a big splash!"
Ellie gratefully lowered her trunk into the water and took a long, refreshing drink. She thanked Clyde and waddled away, feeling much better.
Clyde watched her go, a small smile on his face. Maybe big elephants weren't so bad after all.
