The Crocodile Bridge

Illi of a crocodile helping a little monkey to cross the muddy waters

Deep within a swamp where the muddy waters moved slow and thick, a little monkey found himself stranded on a crumbling riverbank. The luscious fruit trees on the opposite side were completely out of reach, and the murky, reed-lined water was far too deep to cross. Seeing his dilemma, a large green crocodile slided up to the muddy edge. Instead of snapping his jaws, the crocodile offered a deal: "Climb onto my back, and I will carry you across the muddy waters to the fruit trees. In return, all I ask is that you drop the highest, sweetest fruits down to me once you reach the branches."

The monkey hesitated, knowing the fierce reputation of crocodiles. But looking at the crocodile's steady grin, he decided to trust him. He hopped onto the creature's broad, armored back, gripping tightly as they navigated through the reeds and lily pads.

The crocodile kept his word, safely delivering the monkey to the other side. True to his part of the deal, the monkey climbed high into the trees and tossed down the juiciest fruits for his new companion. From that day on, the unlikely pair proved that even in the muddiest waters, trust and cooperation could build the perfect bridge
