The monkey was enjoying a corn and walking when it suddenly came before a lion. The lion was curious about what the monkey was eating.
“It’s just a corn,” said the monkey.
“I want a corn now or I will eat you,” said the lion.
“I have only one corn with me, and that is almost finished,” said the monkey.
The lion was angry, but the monkey had no fear.
“My dear friend, I have a friend, a lion stronger than you. Do you want to meet him?” asked the monkey.
“Yes, I want to meet the lion who is stronger than me. After fighting him out of my territory, I will deal with you,” said the lion.
The monkey took the lion near to a well and asked the lion to look down. When the lion looked down, he saw a lion bigger than him. The lion roared, and the other lion also roared back loudly. “Oh, he is stronger than me,” thought the lion. The lion ran for his life. The monkey laughed.
What the lion saw was his own reflection in the water. And the roar he heard? It was the echo of his own voice.
