It was an exciting day for the little bird! His mother had promised that today was the day he would finally learn how to fly.
"Look here, sweetie," his mother said. "You have two strong wings—one on the left and one on the right. To get started, you need to find some speed!"
She showed him how to tilt his chest forward and run across the branch, spreading her feathers wide to catch the breeze. That was Step One. The little bird practiced over and over until he could run with his wings wide open without wobbling.
Once he mastered his balance, it was time for Step Two.
"Now," his mother chirped, "flap your wings just like this!" She showed him how to push the air down with a steady rhythm.
The little bird took a deep breath, gave a quick run, and started flapping as hard as he could. Suddenly, his feet left the branch. He wasn't falling—he was rising!
"Wow! I’m flying! I’m really flying!" the little bird tweeted with joy.
His mother beamed with pride as she watched him glide through the air. She took flight right beside him, and together, they soared through the bright blue sky.
