Somebody Please Rescue Me

tiger on the floating boat cartoon
I'm so upset with this!

Once upon a time, a big, stripy tiger was very curious! He saw a little boat floating near the riverbank. "Ooh, what's this?" he wondered. He jumped in!

But oh no! The boat started to drift away, away, away! The tiger didn't know where it was going. He got scared. "ROAR!" he cried, "Where am I going? I want to go home!"

A little fishy, swimming in the river, heard the tiger's loud cries. "Oh my," said the fishy, "That tiger looks very sad."

The fishy swam closer to the boat. "Hey, Mr. Tiger," the fishy said, "Don't you worry! This boat will take you somewhere safe."

The tiger sniffled. "But where? I don't know where it's going!"

"Just wait," said the fishy, "When the sun is high in the sky, and it's afternoon, the wind will blow and push your boat down the river. You'll go to a nice place!"

The tiger looked at the fishy with big, watery eyes. "Really?"

"Yes, really!" said the fishy with a smile. "Just be patient!"

So the tiger sat in the boat. He watched the clouds float by. He felt the gentle rocking of the boat. He waited and waited.

Then, just like the fishy said, when the sun was high and warm, a gentle breeze started to blow. The little boat started to move faster down the river!

The tiger watched as the trees and bushes went by. He saw birds flying and heard them singing. He even saw other fishies swimming!

Finally, the boat gently bumped against a sandy shore. The tiger jumped out, happy and relieved. He looked back at the river and saw the little fishy waving goodbye.

"Thank you, little fishy!" the tiger called out. He was so happy that the fishy had helped him, and he learned that sometimes, waiting is the best thing to do.
