Sammy the Sentinel Squirrel

High up on a sturdy tree branch sat a very special little squirrel named Sammy. Sammy had an important job: he was the jungle’s official watchman!

Whenever a dangerous predator—like a sneaky tiger, a quiet leopard, or a mighty lion—prowled into the area, Sammy sprang into action. He perched on the highest branch and let out a bright, loud chirp in a special musical tune.

All the animals in the forest knew Sammy’s melody. When the monkeys heard the tune, they swung high into the safety of the treetops. The rabbits zoomed into their cozy burrows, and the deer scampered out of sight.

Because Sammy did his job so carefully every single day, the big cats found it nearly impossible to surprise anyone. Sammy was small, but his watchful eyes and helpful heart kept all his forest friends safe and happy!
