A Skiing Tragedy

Barnaby was an adventure-loving rat who loved nothing more than zooming down snowy mountains on his tiny red skis. Whoosh! He flew over snowbanks and carved around frozen pine trees, squealing with joy.

But as he sped down the steepest slope of the day, a sudden gust of wind caught his winter scarf. Barnaby wobbled, lost control, and went straight into a giant snow-drift next to a friendly old pine tree with a soft PLOP! Everything went dizzy and dark.

When Barnaby finally opened his eyes, he wasn't on the chilly mountain anymore. He was tucked under a warm, cozy blanket inside the Cozy Paws Pet Hospital. A friendly rabbit doctor in a white coat smiled down at him.

"Welcome back, speedy!" said Doctor Bunny. "You took quite a tumble out there, but you're going to be just fine."

Barnaby giggled, wiggling his toes, and decided that next time he went skiing, he would definitely stick to the smaller hills—and leave the silly long scarf at home!
