A big, kind elephant mother was walking in the jungle. She saw a tiny, sad baby lion sitting all alone.
"Hello there, little one! Why do you look so glum?" the elephant mother asked gently.
The little lion sniffled. "I'm lost! My mom went hunting, and I walked and walked and now I don't know the way back home," he cried.
The elephant mother smiled with her big, warm eyes. "Don't you worry! I know where the lions live. I can take you home."
The kind elephant let the little lion cub walk right next to her big, gentle legs. They walked a long way.
When the sun began to set, they finally reached the lion's home. The whole family of lions was searching everywhere for the missing baby!
When the lions saw the huge elephant and the tiny baby lion cub, they let out a happy roar!
The baby lion’s mother came running and gave her little cub a huge, thankful hug.
She looked up at the elephant mother. "Thank you so much for bringing my baby home! That was the kindest thing you could do."
The elephant just gave a little trumpet sound, which meant, "You're very welcome!" and then she happily walked back into the jungle.
What do you think was the kindest thing the elephant mother did?
