I Got A Friend

A father elephant, worried about the prolonged summer, told his son, "Son, get ready for a long trip. We're moving with our herd to a new place."

"Where are we going, father?" asked the baby elephant.

"I don't know, my dear son," his dad replied. "This time, the summer is so long that if it continues, our rivers will all dry up, and we'll have no water for drinking or bathing. We must find a new place before that happens."

The elephant herd prepared for their journey. The herd leader counted the elephants and announced, "We will start our journey in search of water early tomorrow morning."

The baby elephant was filled with excitement, only thinking about the new place and the new friends he would meet there. The next day, they began their trek. After walking for a few days, they found a waterfall. "This is the place we will settle down," the herd leader announced.

All the elephants happily drank and bathed in the waterfall. Everyone was content, except for the baby elephant, who hadn't found any new friends.

"Hey, are you sleeping?" a baby monkey asked, trying to wake him up. When the baby elephant awoke, he saw the monkey. "Can we be friends? I'll show you around," the monkey offered.

"Sure, we are friends," said the baby elephant. The monkey and the elephant became fast friends. The monkey took the baby elephant all around the forest, and the baby elephant was so happy that he started singing a song of joy:

"I came for water, I got a friend, A good friend Who is taking me to places, I came for water."

The baby elephant sang his song loudly, for everyone to hear.
