How Far You Can Run From A Lion?

One day, a monkey was playing in a tree when he saw his friend, a giraffe, running very fast. The monkey wondered how fast his long-necked friend could run if a predator attacked. When the giraffe came closer, the monkey climbed onto the giraffe's back.

"Hey, Mr. Giraffe," the monkey asked, "if a lion attacked, how fast could you run?"

"I have no problem in dealing with a lion," the giraffe said to the monkey.

"Thanks to my long legs, I can run faster than most other animals," the giraffe replied. "If necessary, I can even kick a lion with my strong legs." Suddenly, a lion appeared. The furious lion had overheard the giraffe's boast. The angry lion challenged the giraffe to defend himself.

The monkey, terrified, grabbed the giraffe's neck tightly. The giraffe started to run, with the lion close behind. Suddenly, the giraffe turned and kicked the lion. The unexpected kick sent the lion flying, and he fell unconscious. The giraffe ran as fast as he could, with the monkey still clinging to his neck, until they were far away from the lion.

"Now I know how brave you are. Congratulations!" said the monkey. The giraffe smiled.
