Happily Married

two giraffes and a monkey
I declare you husband and wife

Once upon a time, high up in the sunny savanna grass, lived two very tall, very handsome giraffes named Gerald and Gigi. Gerald had the shiniest spots, and Gigi had the most graceful neck. They had met by bumping heads (a bit clumsily, since they were so tall) while munching on acacia leaves and, right then and there, they fell in love. The Proposal "Gigi," Gerald declared one sparkling afternoon, "Life is simply better when I can look over the treetops and see your lovely face next to mine. Will you marry me?"

Gigi's eyes sparkled like the dew on the daisies. "Oh, Gerald! I would love to! Now, who can marry us?"

That’s where Max the Monkey swung in. Max was always up in the trees, watching everything. He was a little mischievous, but he had a big heart and knew a thing or two about parties.

"Ooh-ooh-aah!" Max called down from his vine, nearly dropping a banana. "I can bless your marriage! I've seen every wedding on the savanna, and I know all the best parts!"

So, they planned the Great Big Giraffe Wedding.

The day came, and the savanna was buzzing! The sun was warm, and the tall grass was greener than ever. Gerald and Gigi stood side-by-side, their necks forming a beautiful, gentle arch. Daisies were scattered all around their big hoofed feet.

Max the Monkey swung down from a sturdy branch, hovering right above them. "Do you, Gerald, promise to share the tastiest leaves and always remember how wonderfully tall Gigi is?"

"I do!" Gerald said, his long eyelashes blinking happily.

"And do you, Gigi, promise to always keep Gerald company, even when he gets a little clumsy bumping into things?"

"I most certainly do!" Gigi chimed.

Max took a deep breath. "Then, by the power of sunshine, daisies, and good tree-swinging," he announced, doing a little flip on his vine, "I declare you husband and wife! Now, K-I-S-S!"

Gerald and Gigi leaned down, nuzzling their heads together with a soft thump. It was a true 'giraffe kiss.'

Max cheered and threw a handful of confetti (which were really just tiny, crumbled leaves) down on the happy couple. "Now let's party! But maybe let's start with a nap, because that was a lot of standing up."

And so, the two very happy giraffes started their new life together, knowing that even in the big, wide world, they only needed one another—and maybe a friendly monkey to swing by and say hello.

That was fun! Would you like me to create a drawing or coloring book prompt based on this story, or perhaps write a short poem about Gerald and Gigi's big day?
