The baby elephant was taking a long nap after a big lunch of sweet jackfruit. While he snoozed, a tiny ant scurried onto the elephant’s trunk. The ant was very brave; he marched all the way up to the top of the elephant’s head!
Just then, the baby elephant woke up. He blinked his big eyes and spotted the little ant.
"Hey there! What are you doing?" the baby elephant asked, staring at the tiny speck between his ears.
"Oh, I was just passing through," the ant replied with a smile. "I saw you resting and thought I’d say hello. How are you doing today, Hippo?"
"I’m doing great!" the elephant trumpeted softly. "I’m so happy because I just ate the sweetest jackfruit I’ve ever had in my entire life."
The ant smiled. "That sounds delicious."
The elephant watched as other ants hurried by on the ground. "I always see you guys working so hard. Why are you in such a rush?"
"Well," the ant explained, "winter is coming! We have to gather all our food now. When the snow falls, we stay cozy indoors and eat the treats we’re collecting today. It’s the best time of year—we spend our days partying, singing songs, and resting."
"That is very smart," said the baby elephant. "I really admire how hard you work!"
