The elephant was searching for something in the river. “Hey, what are you searching for?” asked the crocodile. “You need any help from me?”
Elly the elephant sighed. “I’m looking for my favorite pebble,” she explained. “It’s the smoothest, roundest pebble I’ve ever found, and I dropped it in the river while I was splashing around.”
Clyde the crocodile, known for his helpful nature, immediately offered his assistance. “Don’t worry, Elly! I’ll help you find it!”
Clyde, with his long snout, was perfect for searching the riverbed. He dove deep into the water and scoured the bottom, stirring up the mud. He poked his head above the surface, shaking water from his eyes. “No luck yet,” he said, “but I won’t give up!”
Clyde continued to search, his snout churning up the riverbed. Finally, he spotted something glinting in the mud. He gently nudged it with his snout and brought it to the surface. It was Elly’s pebble!
Elly was overjoyed. “Oh, Clyde, thank you so much!” she trumpeted. “You’re the best!”
Clyde grinned. “You’re welcome, Elly! I’m glad I could help.”
Elly, grateful for Clyde’s help, offered him a ride on her back. Clyde, excited for another adventure, climbed aboard and they set off together, enjoying the rest of the afternoon.
