It was a bright, sunny day at the riverbank. Barnaby the Bull was grazing on the lush green grass when a scaly head popped out of the water. It was Snappy the Crocodile, wearing a grin that showed off way too many teeth.
"Hey there, Barnaby!" Snappy called out smoothly. "I’m having a huge party on the other side of the river, and you’re the guest of honor. Why don't you hop into the water? I’ll give you a ride across on my back!"
Barnaby was a kind-hearted soul who loved making new friends. "A party? For me?" he asked, his eyes brightening. "That sounds wonderful! I’d be honored to join you."
Barnaby walked to the very edge of the muddy bank, ready to take a splash. But just as his hoof touched the water, a voice shrieked from the trees above.
It was Moe the Monkey, swinging down from a willow tree. "Barnaby, use your head! That’s not a party invitation—that’s a dinner invitation! If you get in that water, the only thing 'partying' will be Snappy’s stomach!"
Barnaby realized his mistake instantly. He took a giant leap back from the water’s edge and galloped away into the meadow as fast as his legs could carry him.
Snappy the Crocodile hissed in frustration, splashing his tail against the water. "Hey! Who invited you, Moe? You ruined my guest list!"
Moe just laughed from the safety of a high branch. "Sorry, Snappy! This party is officially canceled!"
