The mother bird looked at her little darlings with deep affection. "God has given me such wonderful children!" she thanked God in her heart. "The rest of my life is dedicated to them. I must teach them to spread their wings and fly, and also guide them on how to protect themselves from fierce predators."
As the days passed, one afternoon, dark clouds began to gather in the sky. Suddenly, a strong wind started to blow fiercely. Looking through the rustling leaves of the nest, the mother bird spotted an eagle circling in the distance. The branch they were perched on began to sway violently under the force of the wind.
Terrified, the little chicks huddled closer to their mother. But the mother bird reassured them with courage, "Do not be afraid, my little ones. This is your test. Spread your wings and face the direction of the wind. Flap your wings hard... you can fly!"
Hearing their mother's words, the chicks looked at each other. Though frightened, they spread their tiny wings and tried to leap into the gushing wind. At first, they were pushed back a bit by the strong gusts, but just as their mother had instructed, they adjusted their wings to the wind and managed to find their balance in the air.
Staying out of the eagle's sight, they flew low and safely took shelter in the hollow of a nearby large tree. Seeing her little ones bravely face the challenge, learn to fly, and rescue themselves from the predator, the mother bird's heart swelled with joy and pride.
Moral: If we face adversity with courage instead of fear, we can overcome any great challenge.
