One sunny afternoon, a fuzzy little bear cub named Barnaby was following a butterfly when he realized he had wandered far from home. Suddenly, he found himself deep in the Monkey Kingdom.
"Halt!" a voice chirped from above. "No bears allowed without a golden pass!"
Barnaby looked up. A monkey was swinging by his tail, pointing a playful finger down at him.
"I... I’m sorry," Barnaby snivelled, his bottom lip trembling. "I was just following a butterfly, and now I’m lost." Large, shiny tears began to roll down his furry cheeks.
The monkeys stopped their chattering. Seeing the cub so sad made their own hearts feel heavy. The Monkey Chief swung down to a lower branch. "Oh, don't cry, little cub! If you leak, we’ll leak too, and then the whole forest will be soggy!"
The Chief did a silly backflip to make Barnaby smile. "What can we do to turn that frown upside down?"
Barnaby sniffled and thought for a second. "I’m really, really hungry for some honey," he whispered.
The monkeys sprang into action! They zoomed to the very top of the tallest tree and carefully retrieved a giant, dripping honeycomb. They brought the sweet, golden treat down to Barnaby, who took a big, sticky bite.
Barnaby let out a happy giggle. The monkeys began to hoot and holler with joy! For the rest of the afternoon, the forest was filled with the sounds of tag and hide-and-seek.
Just as the sun began to dip behind the trees, a loud, worried "ROAR" echoed through the woods. It was Barnaby’s mama! She pushed through the ferns, expecting the worst, but instead found her cub having a dance party with his new primate pals.
Barnaby gave the Chief a big bear hug and promised to come back soon—as long as he remembered to bring some honey to share!
