One sunny afternoon, a happy little baby elephant was playing by the riverbank. His name was Pip, and he was practicing drawing water with his tiny, wiggly trunk. Splish, splash! Pip was having so much fun, trying to scoop up the biggest mouthful.
Suddenly, Pip noticed some curious, tiny ripples on the water. With a soft whoosh, a friendly-looking crocodile appeared, wearing a wide, cheerful smile.
“Hi there!” chirped the crocodile, whose name was Cracker. “No need to worry, little friend. I just live here in the beautiful, cool water, and I’m so very glad to meet you!”
Pip, who had been a little surprised, saw the crocodile's kind smile and felt safe. He trumpeted a happy greeting. From that day on, the baby elephant and the friendly crocodile became the best of pals, sharing many adventures by the riverside.
