The hippo was annoyed by the frog crying when he entered the lake.
“Hey, are you mocking me?” asked the hippo.
“Please don’t misunderstand me. I was not mocking you; I was greeting you,” said the frog.
The hippo sat in the lake, enjoying the cool water. The frog jumped around, catching small insects.
Days and months passed. It was summer. As usual, the hippo came to the lake and found it dry.
“Hey, I think I have to go and look for another lake. This lake is drying up,” said the hippo.
“No need to go, it’s going to rain soon. But the rain will come only when I invite it,” said the frog.
“Ok, then do it,” said the hippo.
“But for that, I have to cry. Won’t you be annoyed by it?” asked the frog.
“No, if it rains, you can cry,” said the hippo.
The frog started crying for the rain, “Chrome, chrome.” Soon, clouds appeared in the sky. A thunderstorm followed, and the lake was full of water. The hippo was happy.
“Thank you, dear. You can cry anytime; I won’t be annoyed,” said the hippo.
From that day onwards, the hippo and the frog became friends.
