A Big Catch Today

High above A hungry hawk was soaring through the sky. With its sharp superhero vision, the bird spotted the snake wiggling on the ground. Zoom! The hawk swiftly swooped down, opened its talons, and snatched the snake right up.

To the hawk, this was the jackpot—enough food to feed his entire family!

But there was a big problem: the snake was heavy. Really heavy. The hawk flapped its wings as hard as it could, but it couldn't fly very far with such a heavyweight passenger. High in the air, the hawk's grip slipped. Whoosh! He dropped the snake!

The snake tumbled down, down, down through the air until—thwack!—it got stuck in the branches of a tall tree.

As it turned out, a mischievous monkey was sitting in that exact tree. The monkey took one look at the tangled snake, freaked out, and threw it right back down to the ground.

Thud! The snake landed safely in the soft grass. It shook itself off, completely unharmed. Talk about a lucky break! The snake slithered away into the bushes, safe, sound, and very glad to be free.

Whew! That was one wild ride.
