It was the day of the Jungle Festival, and the air was buzzing with excitement! The "Big Jungle Dash" was about to begin, and every animal—from the tiniest hopping frog to the largest stomping elephant—was lined up at the starting blocks.
Everyone was ready to run, except for Gerry the Giraffe.
Gerry stood tall, his head reaching way up into the clouds. He looked down at his own long, powerful legs. He knew that with just a few giant strides, he could zoom past everyone and cross the finish line before the monkeys could even peel a banana!
But Gerry had a different idea. He thought to himself, "If I use my long legs to win, it wouldn't be much of a challenge for me, and it might not be fair to my shorter friends."
Gerry didn't want a trophy; he wanted everyone to have a blast. So, instead of stretching his legs for the race, he put on a bright whistle and a shiny gold badge.
"I’ll be the Judge!" Gerry announced with a cheerful whistle.
As the race started, Gerry cheered for every single runner. He watched the cheetahs sprint and the hippos power through the mud. When the race ended, he handed out ribbons to the winners and high-fives to everyone else.
Gerry realized that helping his friends have a fair, fun race felt even better than winning a gold medal. In the jungle that day, Gerry was the biggest winner of all—not because of his legs, but because of his big heart.
