"Hey! The tiger's here, run fast!" the monkey shouted from the very top of the tree. All the small animals, hearing the warning, scurried away to find shelter. When the tiger finally arrived, he couldn't see any animals in sight. He looked up and saw the monkey, who was now wearing a very innocent expression.
"Hey, you little trickster! Are you trying to fool me by shouting warnings to the small animals?" roared the tiger.
"No, dear," replied the monkey sweetly. "It's my duty to warn my friends about danger. Otherwise, what's the meaning of friendship?"
"If we were friends, would you keep your mouth shut when I come hunting?" asked the tiger, a hint of a sneer in his voice.
"Sorry, no can do, bro," said the monkey firmly. "I don't want to be friends with a tiger, because I know you have bad intentions behind your 'friendship.' Now, go away!"
The disappointed tiger grumbled and went to hunt in another part of the jungle.
