The Ultimate Race

horse and the turtle cartoon
Just race

Once upon a time, in a sunny green meadow, lived a very fast horse named Gallop. Gallop loved to run and often boasted about how quick he was. One day, he saw a little turtle, Shell, slowly making his way across the grass.

Gallop laughed loudly, "Ha ha! Look at you, Shell! You move so slowly, it looks like you're standing still!"

Shell just smiled his gentle smile. "It's true I'm not as fast as you, Gallop," he said calmly, "but I always get where I'm going."

Gallop, still chuckling, puffed out his chest. "Let's race then! I bet I can reach the big oak tree before you even take ten steps!"

Shell thought for a moment and then nodded. "Okay, Gallop. Let's race."

The other animals gathered to watch. Gallop zoomed off like a flash of lightning, leaving a cloud of dust behind him. He was so far ahead that he decided to take a little nap under a shady bush, thinking Shell would never catch up.

Meanwhile, Shell kept going, one slow, steady step after another. He didn't stop, he didn't rest, and he didn't complain. He just kept moving towards the big oak tree.

When Gallop finally woke up from his nap, he stretched and yawned. He looked towards the finish line and gasped! There was Shell, just a few inches away from the big oak tree! Gallop galloped as fast as he could, but it was too late. Shell crossed the finish line first!

Gallop felt a little silly. He had mocked Shell for being slow, but Shell's steady effort had won the race. From that day on, Gallop learned a valuable lesson: it's not kind to make fun of others, and sometimes, slow and steady wins the race.

Moral of the story: Don't mock anyone, and never underestimate others.
