The Elephant and the Tiny Life Guard

elephant talking to a frog

The frog looked up at the mountain of an elephant standing before him. With eyes wide open in surprise, the frog gave a friendly croak.

"You’ve come to the right place!" the frog chirped. "I'm the local expert around here. Tell me, what’s the problem? How can I help you out today?"

The elephant let out a low, rumbling chuckle. "Oh, I’m not here because I have a problem," the elephant said, swinging his trunk. "I just came to splash and play in the pond!"

The frog’s eyes went even wider. He looked at the tiny pond and then back at the giant elephant.

"That sounds like a blast," the frog said gently. "But there’s one little hiccup: if a big guy like you does a 'cannonball' in here, it’s going to be a giant disaster for us little guys! You’d splash our whole world away!"

A Splashing Solution The elephant paused, his giant foot hovering over the water. "I never thought of that," he whispered. "I don’t want to wash away your home."

The frog tapped his chin with a webbed toe. "Hmm... I have an idea! Instead of jumping in, why don't you use that amazing trunk of yours like a garden hose? You can stand on the grass and spray the water high into the air!"

The elephant’s ears flopped happily. He sucked up a trunkful of water and sent a glittering rainbow of mist over the pond.

"It’s a giant sprinkler!" the frog cheered, hopping through the gentle spray.

The elephant got to play, the frog stayed dry, and together they turned the pond into the best water park the jungle had ever seen.
