"Hey, be careful! That crooked crocodile is after you!"

This duck saw the river is fully occupied by a crocodile and a hippopotamus. So the duck is playing an old trick to get rid of them.

The duck goes to the hippopotamus and tells the hippopotamus that the crocodile doesn't like hippos around.

Later that day, the duck went to the crocodile and said the same thing about the hippopotamus, that the hippo doesn't like the croc being around.

The duck is trying to get rid of both occupants of the river at once. Now. the duck is simply waiting for the fight.
