The Well-wisher

giraffe and the bird mother
Anybody home?

The giraffe was moving from one tree to another, chewing leaves, came across a cute tree home of a bird.

“Hey, little bird, why are you sitting at home when all the birds are singing in the sky?” asked the giraffe.

“I have to look after my eggs. Soon, my babies will come out of these eggs. I should be around when the babies come out. I am afraid of predators who will come and eat my eggs. That is why I am still here,” said the bird.

“Don’t worry, bird mother. I am a mother of two baby giraffes. I know how hard it is for a mother to protect her babies in the wild. I will keep an eye on your home. I am staying nearby. If you face any problem, give me a signal, and I will come for your help,” said the giraffe.

“That’s so nice of you. I am glad I got a friend like you,” said the bird.

The giraffe then put a notice before the bird home, that read like this.

“Trespassers will be prosecuted. This bird home is under the surveillance of long legged giraffe.”

That notice was good enough for the predators to stay away from the bird home.

In a few days, the babies came out of their eggs. The giraffe mother, with her boys, came to see the babies. The bird thanked the giraffe for her help to protect her babies.
