Once upon a time, there was a tiger who loved getting things the easy way. So he chose a village that was near the forest, to pay a visit every now and then. Every time the tiger visited the village, he'd sneak away with a juicy goat, a plump cow, or even a strutting rooster! In the jungle, he had to work hard, running and chasing his meals. But in the village, it was like a free buffet! He just had to hide and pounce at the perfect moment. The tiger was getting so addicted with his village visits that he forgot how to hunt in the forest.
His wise jungle friends often warned him, "Dude, the village is dangerous! It's not worth the risk, you better stay in the forest and hunt the animals in the forest. Never go to that vilalge!" But the tiger kept ignoring the warnings from his friends and continued with his village visits. He was too tempted by the easy food he could get without any effort. The tiger was confident that nobody wiil ever going to catch him.
So, one sunny morning, the tiger crept into the village. He spotted a tall, leafy tree and climbed up, settling in to wait for his next easy meal. Soon, he saw a delicious-looking goat munching grass right below him! "Wow!" thought the tiger, his eyes wide. "I don't even have to look for food today; it's come right to me!"
With a mighty leap, the tiger pounced! But instead of landing on the soft grass with the goat, he landed with a THUD inside a strong, hidden cage! CLANG! The cage door slammed shut behind him.
"Oh, no!" cried the tiger, filled with regret. "I'm trapped! I should have paid more attention to my surroundings!" But it was too late. The clever villagers had set a trap, and the tiger was caught.
Soon, the tiger was taken to a big zoo. There, he would always have food brought right to him, but his freedom, his ability to roam the wild jungle, was gone forever.
What do you think is the most important lesson the tiger learned that day?
