The tiger approached the crocodile with a request.
"Hey, Mr. Crocodile," the tiger began, "the island in the middle of the sea looks so attractive. Could you take me there?"
"Of course, I will!" replied the crocodile. "I'll bring my boat, and we can go together."
True to his word, the croc brought his boat, and the tiger climbed aboard. The crocodile began rowing, and after several hours of sailing, they reached the beautiful island.
It was indeed a stunning island, full of exciting activities. They spent the entire day there, playing hide-and-seek among the swaying palm trees and racing along the sandy shores. The tiger, usually so cautious, even tried to catch fish with his paws, much to the crocodile's amusement. They shared juicy island fruits, laughing as their faces became sticky with sweet pulp.
As dusk began to settle, casting long shadows across the beach, the tiger said, "Hey, friend, let's head back now."
They walked towards the spot where they had beached the boat, but as they rounded a cluster of rocks, a collective gasp escaped them. The tide had risen significantly, and their little boat, which had been resting safely on the sand, was now adrift, bobbing precariously a good distance from the shore. The waves, though not monstrous, were strong enough to make swimming out to it a dangerous proposition for the land-loving tiger.
"Oh no!" cried the tiger, his playful mood replaced by worry. "What do we do, Mr. Crocodile? I can't swim out there in this tide!"
The crocodile, ever resourceful, surveyed the situation calmly. "Don't worry, my friend," he reassured. "We'll figure this out. The tide is still coming in, so it might drift closer to that rocky outcrop." He pointed with his snout to a jagged piece of land that jutted out into the water. "We'll wait a little, and if it doesn't, I'll have to go for it."
They sat on the shore, watching anxiously as the boat danced on the waves. Just as the tiger was about to suggest a desperate plan, a slightly larger wave pushed the boat closer to the rocky outcrop. The crocodile, with a swift, powerful lunge, launched himself into the water. He expertly navigated the currents, his strong tail propelling him towards the boat. With a few powerful snaps of his jaws, he grabbed the rope dangling from the bow and began pulling it back towards the outcrop. The tiger cheered him on, relieved.
After a few tense minutes, the crocodile managed to maneuver the boat close enough for the tiger to carefully step back into it. Exhausted but triumphant, they finally set off, the crocodile rowing with renewed purpose.
They journeyed home under the starlit sky, laden with wonderful memories and a newfound appreciation for their companion's courage. "We should definitely come here again," the tiger exclaimed, "but next time, we'll anchor the boat!"
"Absolutely, we will," the crocodile chuckled, "and perhaps pack a longer rope!"
