The little tiger cub had no idea where he was. He had wandered far from home, and now that he wanted to return, he found himself staring at dozens of intersecting tracks in the dirt. Unsure of which path to take, he sat down, completely lost.
Just then, a bright red bird landed on a nearby branch and asked, "Why do you look so worried, little one?"
"I'm lost, and I can't find my way back to my mom," the cub whimpered.
"Don't worry, I'll help you," replied the bird gently. "Stay right here while I fly above the trees to see if I can spot her."
The bird took to the sky, soaring over the dense forest canopy. Before long, she spotted a tigress pacing anxiously back and forth below. Swooping down to a low branch, the bird asked, "Excuse me, what are you looking for?"
"I've lost my baby," the tigress cried, looking up. "I'm searching everywhere for him!"
"Rest easy, he will be back with you soon," said the bird. "I found him wandering nearby. I'll go right back and guide him to you."
The bird flew straight back to the waiting cub. "Follow me!" she chirped, fluttering just above the path.
The overjoyed cub bounded after the red bird until he burst through the trees and saw his mother. Reunited at last, the tigress nuzzled her child closely and expressed her heartfelt thanks to the kind bird for bringing her little cub safely home.
