The Lion Intruder

Once upon a time, a mighty lion decided to take a stroll into a quiet little village. He was looking for an easy snack—maybe a plump cow or a tasty rooster.

The lion crept through the shadows, trying to be as quiet as a mouse. He knew that if the villagers spotted him, his "snack break" would be over very quickly! Luckily for him, he soon spotted a bright red rooster pecking at some corn, completely unaware that a king was watching him.

A Close Call

The lion took a slow, careful step. Then another. He was almost ready to pounce! But high up in an oak tree, a watchful blue jay saw everything.

The bird let out a sharp, piercing chirp-chirp-chirp! It was a warning that danger was near.

The Great Escape

The rooster looked up, saw the golden fur in the bushes, and didn't waste a second. He flapped his wings and began to crow at the top of his lungs: "COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!"

The noise was so loud and unexpected that it startled the lion right out of his paws! All over the village, lights flickered on and doors began to creak open. The villagers were waking up, and they weren't happy about having a lion in their backyard.

Realizing his "quiet" visit had turned into a noisy parade, the lion decided he wasn't that hungry after all. He turned around and bolted back into the forest as fast as he could, leaving the brave rooster safe and sound.
