Cow And The Meditating Lion

The cow spotted a lion sitting completely still and decided to walk over.

"Hey, Mr. Lion, why are you sitting around so lazily?" the cow asked.

"I am not lazy; I am meditating," the lion replied calmly.

"And what exactly do you get from meditating?" the cow asked, tilting her head.

"I get cows like you," the lion growled.

Before the cow could react, the lion pounced and dragged her back to his den. Inside, the rest of the lion's family was waiting anxiously. When they saw the prize he had brought home, they roared with delight.

Terrified and surrounded by the powerful predators, the cow had no idea how she would ever escape. Meanwhile, the lion began boasting to his family, proudly explaining how he had tricked the foolish cow with his "meditation" act. The other lions laughed heartily at the clever ruse.

"Let's save this cow for dinner," the chief lion decided. Since dinner was still hours away, the lions stretched out and drifted off into a deep afternoon nap.

Buying into this perfect opportunity, the cow quietly stood up and simply walked out of the den. Once she was clear of the sleeping pride, her walk turned into a trot, and her trot turned into a frantic run until she finally reached the safety of her home.

Back at the pasture, she immediately warned the rest of the herd: "Beware of the meditating lion, and keep your distance!"
