The little pig was a small explorer with a big imagination. While the other pigs at the farm were happy napping in the mud, this pig dreamed of the Great Green Forest. Today was the day! He found a loose board in the fence and squeezed through.
"I’m an adventurer!" he squeaked, trotting through the tall grass.
But high above on a rocky ledge, the tiger was watching. The tiger hadn't had a snack all afternoon. He watched the pig wiggle along, completely unaware of the stripes hiding in the shadows.
The tiger crept down, silent as a whisper. He waited for the perfect moment. He coiled his muscles, counted to three, and then—POUNCE!
The tiger leaped through the air like a giant orange rocket. But the little pig was quicker than he looked. Just as the tiger reached the peak of his jump, the pig spotted a huge, dark shadow growing over him on the grass.
"Oink!" he cried.
He didn't stop to look up. He performed a "super-sonic belly slide" right through a patch of slippery clover. Whoosh! He slid perfectly between two mossy rocks just as the tiger’s paws landed with a loud THUMP right where the pig had been standing a second ago.
The tiger blinked, his nose inches from the dirt. He looked left. He looked right. No pig.
The little explorer popped his head out from behind a tree a few yards away, his heart going thump-thump-thump. He realized that adventures were exciting, but you had to keep your eyes on the shadows! He quickly scampered toward the thick bushes where the big tiger couldn't follow.
