Surviving The Great Deluge

Noahs arc floating in the water
It started raining day and night

Long, long ago, when the world was brand new, things weren’t very happy. Some big, mean giants were stomping around and making everyone feel scared and sad. The kind God in the sky saw all this and decided it was time for a big clean-up.

God chose a good man named Noah and his family. “Noah,” God said, “I have a very important job for you. You need to build a giant boat, bigger than anything you’ve ever seen! It’s called an Ark.”

God gave Noah the exact directions, like a super special building plan. He told them how long and how tall and how wide to make it. Noah and his sons worked very hard, chopping wood and putting it all together, just like God said.

When the big boat was finally ready, something amazing happened! Noah watched as all the animals on Earth came walking towards his Ark, two by two. There were fluffy sheep and tall giraffes, tiny ladybugs and giant elephants. They all went quietly inside, like someone was whispering a secret to them.

Then, God told Noah, “Now, close the big door.” Noah did as he was asked, and the Ark was sealed tight.

Soon after, big raindrops started to fall. And they kept falling, and falling, and falling! It rained for so, so many days – about forty sleepy-times. The water went up, and up, and up, until it covered the whole world! The mean giants and anyone who didn’t listen to God were all gone.

But inside the big Ark, Noah and his family were safe and dry. All the animals were safe too! They floated on the water until the rain finally stopped and the water went down, down, down. Noah and his family and all the animals were the start of a new, cleaner world.
