The Energetic Lion Cub

a lion cub practicing leaping and landing
He is all by himself, the lion cub must be practicing

Every time the cub leaps into the air, he isn't just playing—he’s playing a game called "Perfect Landing!" When he jumps over a log or pounces toward a patch of grass, his brain is doing super-fast math. He has to stretch out his paws, balance his tail like a fuzzy airplane wing, and—BAM!—land perfectly on all four legs without tumbling over.

Why? Because when he is a big, grown-up lion, a perfect landing means he can catch his dinner or leap over a wide river without missing a beat. Right now, he might trip on a leaf and roll into a silly ball, but he just shakes his fuzzy ears, laughs, and tries again.

The little cub doesn’t have a classroom or a chalkboard. The whole wild world is his school, and he is his own teacher.
