A loud, sad roar echoed through the jungle, waking up a little monkey. He rubbed his eyes and scrambled down a tree branch to check on his friend.
"Hey, Your Majesty, what’s the matter? Why are you crying?" asked the curious monkey.
"I’m crying because my mane is falling out!" sobbed the lion, wiping away a big tear.
The monkey leaned in close and inspected the lion’s golden fur. "Hmm, you’re right," said the monkey, scratching his chin. "You are losing your mane fast! But don't worry, let me check my medicine book to see if there's a remedy."
The monkey flipped through the dusty pages of his trusty book until his eyes lit up. "Aha! A special herb that grows high in the mountain valley can fix this!"
Together, they set off deep into the forest, traveling all the way to a breezy mountain valley. The nimble monkey climbed up the steep rocks and carefully gathered the magical green leaves.
When they returned home, the monkey crushed the herbs into a smooth lotion. He handed it to the lion and said, "Gently rub this on your head every morning and evening for one full week."
Seven days later, the lion bounced over to the monkey’s tree, wearing a bright, wide smile. His mane was full, fluffy, and grander than ever!
"Look, my friend! My mane grew back!" cheered the happy king. "Thank you so much for your help!"
The monkey gave a proud grin. "That’s what friends are for!"
