The Lion King sat on his high throne, a massive, sun-warmed rock. He looked very serious as he gazed out over the golden grass of the savanna. Suddenly, a tiny bird fluttered down and landed right on his paw.
"Your Majesty! I have a secret message for you," she chirped breathlessly. "A giant lion—even bigger and stronger than you—is heading this way! He wants to take over your kingdom."
The Lion’s ears flicked back. "Oh, that is worrying news," he said, his voice deep. "What should I do to protect my home?"
The bird puffed out her chest. "Don't worry, Sir! I’ll fly to the Elephant Brigade. I’ll ask them to stand guard and watch out for this mighty intruder."
"That is a wonderful idea," the Lion replied with a smile. "Go quickly, and thank you!"
The bird zipped through the air until she found the elephants. "Alert! Alert!" she cried. "A mean lion is coming! We have to protect the kingdom!"
The Elephant Brigade marched to the edge of the forest. Soon, they saw the strange lion prowling toward them. On the count of three, the elephants raised their trunks and let out the loudest trumpets you’ve ever heard—BWAAAARGH! The ground shook. The strange lion jumped so high he nearly did a backflip! He had never heard such a terrifying noise before. Thinking he was being chased by giant monsters, he turned around and ran as fast as his legs could carry him. He ran all the way back to his own woods and was never seen again.
The Lion King was safe, all thanks to a tiny bird and some very loud friends.
