Meeting A Flood Friend

The elephant and the monkey were taking a trip down to the river when they spotted something new—a big green crocodile! He hadn't lived there before. The crocodile told them he was from a distant place and had arrived during the last massive flood, when the rivers were overflowing. Now, he was waiting for the next flood to take him back home.

He introduced himself with a big, toothy smile and said, 'Hi there! I'm here to visit you.'

The elephant and the monkey smiled back. 'What brings you all this way?' the elephant asked.

'Well, my home is far from here. I'm hoping the next flood will help me return. In the meantime, I'm waiting here and might be around for a while. Would it be okay if I lived here with you until the next flood comes?' asked the crocodile.

The elephant and the monkey nodded right away and said yes. Then, they all started to play in the water!
