Lion And The Cow

Um, Today is my lucky day. I can't wait anymore!

Leo the lion was wandering through the tall grass, his stomach rumbling. Suddenly, he heard a sound—a soft moo coming from the nearby meadow.

Lucky Day?

Leo grinned, his eyes brightening. "I’m in luck today," he whispered to himself. "A delicious steak dinner is just around the corner." He began to tip-toe through the grass, moving as silent as a shadow toward the sound.

From behind a large bush, he spotted Daisy the cow grazing peacefully. "This will be easy," Leo thought. "I’ll bring her back to the den and have a massive feast with all my friends and family."

Time For Action

He crouched low, getting ready to spring, when a sudden sound broke the silence: "Woof! Woof! Bark!"

A pack of farm dogs came charging across the field, tails up and ears back, running straight toward the meadow. Leo froze. He realized he was outnumbered and definitely didn't want to deal with a group of protective pups. He quickly turned tail and scrambled back into the deep, dark forest.

Daisy watched the lion disappear and then turned to the dogs with a big smile. "Thank you so much!" she said, as they wagged their tails around her. "You’re the best friends a cow could ask for. Thanks for always having my back!"
